Tenbury Wants Youngsters

We've caught up with Tenbury Bowls Club who are tomorrow's opponents:

"We're keen to dispel the myth that the sport is only for those in the twilight of their lives.
As a result the club staged an open day earlier in the year as a bid to attract new members.
"Members are particularly keen to get more younger people to appreciate that bowling is a serious sport they can enjoy.
"As part of this we have been forging links with Tenbury High School to try to bring students into the game.
"I think more clubs should have links with schools so more people are brought into the sport."
BromyardBowls would like to add that bowls is really a sport for anyone.
One of Bromyard Bowls Club's members said to us:
"There are clubs out there for disabled users. We don't have those facilities, but we know those who do. It's essential in making the sport thrive.
"Gelligaled for example, they have the correct facilities in place to make this possible. They have state of the art facilities and as a result are attracting more and more people from the valleys."
The Commonwelath Games are coming up soon and it's important to remember bowls features. Hopefully this will make the sport more open and a new range of people will be aware.
