Club Photos from Years Past
With a huge thank you to Margaret Anne Beare on Facebook, we are able to bring you a handful of photos of bowls club members from sometime in the late 20th century.
Margaret is the niece of the late Elsie Powell, who was one of the key members of the club.
The photos are due to be handed over to the bowls club later today so that the dates, people and places of these photographs can be identified.
Anybody who recognises any of the faces are urged to come forward by emailing info@bromyardbowls.co.uk.

Local News: £2m Investment Into Bromyard?
This article is reproduced thanks to Rebecca Cain at the Hereford Times.
Welsh Water will start work in the new year on a £2million investment project in Bromyard which is expected to last five months.
The investment involves replacing around 2.5 kilometres of old iron water mains with new plastic pipes and aims to reduce interruptions to customer supply.
While the work is carried out, which is scheduled to start on January 4, there will be no impact on the water or wastewater services.
Welsh Water's delivery manager, Arwel Jones, said: "Our investment here demonstrates our commitment to provide customers with a first class drinking water supply."
There will be two teams starting at different locations to ensure the work is completed as quickly as possible.
Customers are invited to view plans of the work on December 8 at The Falcon Hotel in Bromyard from 2.30pm to 7pm.
Mr Jones added: "We would encourage customers to come and see us at our exhibition and find out about the work and how we are investing the money they pay us through the bill is helping us to deliver long term improvements to their services.
"Letters have been sent to local residents and businesses and we also held two information events in the local areas.
"We would like to thank local residents in advance for bearing with us while we carry out this essential work.
"There should be no interruption to customers' water supply while this work is taking place, however, if any interruption should be necessary, customers will receive plenty of advance notice."

Local News: Bromyard Set For Christmas Light Switch On
With thanks to the Worcester News for this article.
The sleepy town of Bromyard is ready for one of the highlights of the year - the switching on of the spectacular Christmas lights this Saturday (21st November) at 5pm.
Roger Wilkins, the longest serving member of the town's 'light brigade' - who is now in his 48th year of involvement - will have the honour of flicking the switch.
He will be joined by Toni McDonald of BBC Hereford and Worcester, who will present prizes to the winners of the Bromyard Chamber of Commerce's annual shop window competition.
This year's switch-on is the 'very special' 50th anniversary year.
In the same week where residents of Worcester were appalled at the city's festive display, calling "rubbish Christmas lights and an unfinished festive tree."
No such trouble in Bromyard though as the light brigade are all set for another switch on which could see as many as 2,000 people descend on the town. In their week 6 blog update, BCL thank Blackpool Illuminations for their continued support, this year the Christmas Tree in the square features new flashing LED lights and a new star - the tree itself was kindly sponsored by Park Leisure.
All lights have now been erected and all relevant testing has taken place ahead of the switch on this Saturday at 5pm.

Bowls News: The Value of Grassroots Sport
Bowls England members urged to join campaign to tell George Osborne how much they value grassroots sport.
Bowls England is backing a new campaign designed to promote support for grassroots sport ahead of the Government’s Comprehensive Spending Review on 25 November.
The #GetYourKitOn campaign, supported by sports organisations across the country,is encouraging as many people as possible to tell George Osborne how much they value grassroots sport before he decides whether to cut up to 40% of grassroot sport’s taxpayer funding.
You can spread the word of your support for the campaign by sharing photos of you in your sports kit with the hashtag #GetYourKitOn.
Emma Boggis, Chief Executive of the Sport and Recreation Alliance, the umbrella body for sports organisations, says the campaign needs as many supporters as possible if it is to succeed.
“We understand difficult decisions have to be made but cuts of this size would have serious repercussions for grassroots sport. So we are calling for everyone who plays or who has children who play grassroots sport to spend 60 seconds contacting the Chancellor to tell them how much they value our grassroots sport.”
Recent polling, commissioned by the Alliance, shows that 79% of people feel the Government should do more to support grassroots sport, and 75% agreeing that grassroots sport should receive more funding from the Government.
As part of the campaign, supporters are being asked to visit www.GetYourKitOn.team and post a message directly to the inbox of George Osborne, asking him to protect funding for grassroots sport.
Emma Boggis said, “The #GetYourKitOn campaign is a fantastic way to show the strength of feeling and passion that keeps grassroots sport functioning in the country, but we need you to act quickly. These decisions are already being made and unless we tell George Osborne that we are united in our support for our community clubs and sports, sport stands to lose out.”
Tony Allcock MBE, Chief Executive of Bowls England on backing the campaign said, “We’ve got a small amount of time to convince the Chancellor that we value grassroots sport and to protect it from the worst of the cuts.
“A cut of 40% to Exchequer funding would have a huge impact on the ability of sport to deliver the benefits it offers to communities. Making cuts to grassroots sport funding will not only impact upon the health and happiness of people within their communities, which has a direct positive impact on the health budget but it will also have impacts on economic growth and the development of our young people.”
“We’d encourage all our members and those who pour their heart and soul into grassroots sport to get their kit on, act now and back this campaign and show George Osborne the true value of grassroots sport.”
