This article is reproduced thanks to Rebecca Cain at the Hereford Times.Welsh Water will start work in the new year on a £2million investment project in Bromyard which is expected to last five months.
The investment involves replacing around 2.5 kilometres of old iron water mains with new plastic pipes and aims to reduce interruptions to customer supply.
While the work is carried out, which is scheduled to start on January 4, there will be no impact on the water or wastewater services.
Welsh Water's delivery manager, Arwel Jones, said: "Our investment here demonstrates our commitment to provide customers with a first class drinking water supply."
There will be two teams starting at different locations to ensure the work is completed as quickly as possible.
Customers are invited to view plans of the work on December 8 at The Falcon Hotel in Bromyard from 2.30pm to 7pm.
Mr Jones added: "We would encourage customers to come and see us at our exhibition and find out about the work and how we are investing the money they pay us through the bill is helping us to deliver long term improvements to their services.
"Letters have been sent to local residents and businesses and we also held two information events in the local areas.
"We would like to thank local residents in advance for bearing with us while we carry out this essential work.
"There should be no interruption to customers' water supply while this work is taking place, however, if any interruption should be necessary, customers will receive plenty of advance notice."
