Sorry that is late, but today we hosted a game with Eardisland and we're happy to announce we won! I unfortunately haven't got the score, but have gathered it was a lovely game regardless.
Here's some information we've gathered about Eardisland:
Eardisland has had a bowls club for 80 years and has been at it's current location for 30 years.
It is similar to Bromyard in a number of ways including its friendliness, openess and suitability for new players. Eardisland welcome complete novices and has woods that are provided to new players as long as flat-soled shoes are worn.
The club plays a series of friendly matches throughout the season, both home and away, as well as meeting every Tuesday evening.
Recently, Eardisland have carried out extensive work after recieving a club-changing £48,000.
The money was received from National Lottery funding to upgrade the dated facilities. The work means that there is now new changing areas, toilets and green keeping storage. As well as this, the new clubhouse is larger meaning carpet bowls can be played there in the winter.
Club Chairman, Phil Lynne, told BromyardBowls “This is very exciting news as we can now demolish several almost derelict buildings with a new purpose built changing rooms, toilets, storage and extending the social area. The new build will blend in well in the leisure area and Conservation area it is situated in and then will considerably improve the facilities for the members and visitors to the club.”
